In 2021 EMA's SOLVE team provided HVAC Design and Commissioning services for CFB ISD's Creekview High School. This project included designing one of the largest Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems in a K-12 building in Texas. A total of 402 tons of VRF were installed in the building. The scope of work also included a full HVAC equipment replacement and conversion of an existing hydronic system to a DX RTU (Roof-top Unit) and VRF system.
Design Features:
- To achieve the Owner's desired result, the existing hydronic (chilled water and hot water) system was converted to an entirely new system; over 400 tons of VRF equipment were installed on the first and second floors of Creekview High School.
- EMA also incorporated air scrubbers, an advanced technology used to remove volatile organic compounds (VOC), contaminates, and human-generated CO2, to aid CFB ISD in improving the facility's indoor air quality.
