Job Summary:

A Consulting Intern is an entry level position for someone that has minimal or no engineering and problem-solving experience. The intern actively contributes to various projects related to new building construction, and renovations.. They play a key role in supporting the commissioning process. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, aiding in meetings, completing submittals, participating in functional testing, and aiding with facility assessments. This internship opportunity allows the individual to gain hands-on experience in the consulting engineering field, fostering skills in project management, communication, problem solving, collaborative teamwork, and technical knowledge.

Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities include:


  • Collaborate with Project Managers to support project completion effors.
  • Participate in client communication. 
  • Communicate questions to Team Members, Project Managers, and Clients. 
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing project documentation. 
  • Participate in functional testing activities for construction projects.  
  • Perform energy saving calculations. 
  • Complete design reviews of mechnical, electrical, and plumbing systems. 
  • Actively particpate in learning opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge. 
  • Seek feedback from other engineers to continually improve performance. 
  • Actively participate in professional development conversations to set and achieve personal and career growth goals.
  • Assist with documenting and verifying building construction process. 
  • Conduct field work as needed for design which may include but is not limited to extensive walking, the ability to drive to a job site, climbing on a ladder, crawling through crawlspaces, attic spaces, over parapet walls, and walking on a roof.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Requirements:

  • Current student in a 4-year engineering program.
  • Associates of Applied Science in Engineering Design Technology, Certificate of Proficiency in Computer-Aided Drafting, or equivalent education preferred but not required.
  • AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Revit experience preferred.
